LEVELS EXPLAINED

  • Primary: Ages 5-7 I am still learning to cartwheel and handstand.

    Level 1: Ages 6-8 I can cartwheel and handstand but they aren’t quite perfect. I can push up to bridge easily.

    Level 2: Age 8+ I can cartwheel perfect on one side and I am starting to work on my down to bridge or I can already go down to bridge from standing by myself.

    Level 3: Age 9+ Cartwheels and handstands are easy. I can confidently go down to bridge and almost can kick over from my bridge. I am starting to get really strong.

    Level 4: Age 10+ I can do my back walkover, headstands are easy and I have a solid handstand that I can confidently balance in.

    Level 5: Age 11+ I can back and front walkover perfectly and am working on my back handspring and side aerial.

    Level 6: Age 12+ I can back handspring and side aerial and am working on advanced tumbling and balancing.

    Levels 7 to Pre-Professional: Invitation only.

    Once students have completed their level card they will be invited to do their exam.

  • Primary: Ages 5-6

    Level 1: Ages 7-10 I am new to aerial or I am still working on my strength and confidence going upside down and up high.

    Level 2: Ages 8-10 I can easily and confidently hold myself upside down and at height.

    Level 3: Age 10+ I can confidently and easily hold myself upside down.

    Level 4: Age 11+ I am focused, strong and confident going upside down at height for long periods. I can identify and execute multiple aerial moves and in sequences.

    Level 5: Age 12+ I have advanced aerial experience.

    Once students have completed their level card they will be invited to complete their exam in Term 4.

  • Primary: Ages 5-6

    Level 1: Age 7-10 I am new to aerial or I am still working on my strength.

    Level 2: Age 8-10 I can confidently hold myself upside down and am able to climb to halfway up the silks.

    Level 3: Age 10+ I can climb to the top of the silks with proper technique and invert at the top and hold for at least 10 seconds.

    Level 4: Age 11+ I can climb to the top of the silks and compete multi rotational drops confidently and invert at the top of the silks.

    Level 5: Age 13+ I can already do advanced aerial moves and have extreme strength.

    Once students have completed their level cards they will be eligible to complete their exam in Term 4.

  • Level 1- 7 Years Old

    Level 2- 8 Years Old

    Level 3- 9-10 Years Old

    Level 4- 11+ Years Old and this is a good beginner level for ages 12+ who have done nil or minimal tap.

    Level 5- 13+ Years Old who have tap experience.

    Level 7- 15+ Years Old with extensive tap experience.

    Exams are offered in Term 4 for these classes. This is an additional commitment you can opt in for.

  • 6 Years Old- Test One/Test Two

    7 Year Old- Test Three

    8 Year Old- Bronze Medal

    9-10 Years Old- Bronze Star

    11-12 Years Old- Silver Medal

    13+ Years Old- Gold Medal

    15+ Years Old- Elementary (This is an advanced level that required previous experience on pointe.

    These names just define the content that is taught in these classes from the ATOD Syllabus. Students will progress through the grades each year. Exams are offered in Term 3 in these classes but students must be taking two ballet classes to be eligible for their exam.
